ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Renewable has allured a lot of attention in the recent past owing to enfeeblement of fossil fuels and in the look out of the alternate energy for a clean & bright future. Conference includes cutting edge topics such as Wind, Solar, Hydrogen, Hydro, Geo-thermal, Solar concentrator, Fuel cell, Energy harvesting & other energy related topics.
The purpose of the International Conference on Renewable Energy Systems (ICRES2020) is to bring together academicians, manufacturers, scientists, researchers from industries and students to exchange their research results and address the recent technologies.
Also, it provides a platform to meet and globalize their research work.
ABOUT SSN COLLEGE
Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar (SSN) College of Engineering an Autonomous Institute is the outcome of the vision and initiative of Padma Bhushan Dr. Shiv Nadar, Chairman of HCL Technologies Ltd. Established in 1996 on a sprawling campus of 250 acres on the Rajiv Gandhi Salai (OMR). The Institution offers eight B.E./B. Tech. degree programs and eleven M.E./M.Tech. degree programs in addition to MBA program. This ISO 9001:2008 certified Institution has been accredited by NAAC with an 'A+' Grade and all eligible programs have been accredited by NBA for 5 years.
The institution has consistently stood top among engineering colleges affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The college is ranked 37th in Engineering Category in India Rankings 2019 listed by NIRF, MHRD. The SSN ranked 7th among best private engineering colleges in India in Edu Rand Awards, 2015. In DQ-CMR survey, SSN ranks 24th among all engineering colleges in India. SSN received the "Asia's Best Private Education Institute Award" for the year 2012-13 from World Consulting and Research Corporation (WCRC) processed and evaluated by KPMG, "Top Institute of India Award" for the years 2010 & 2012 instituted by Competition Success Review (CSR), New Delhi and "Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan National Award" for an Engineering College having the Best Overall Performance for the year 2006 from ISTE.
The management awards over 600 scholarships worth Rs.4.3 crores every year to meritorious and deserving students. The college has Wi-Fi connectivity, e-learning enabled classrooms and state of the art laboratories with softwares.
ABOUT EEE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering offers NBA accredited B.E. degree program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and M.E. degree program in Power Electronics and Drives. The Department has 28 qualified faculty members including 27 Ph.D. The department is recognized as approved research centre by Anna University for pursuing Ph.D / M.S (Research) program.
The department has 70 research scholars pursuing Ph.D / M.S (Research) program under 17 recognized supervisors. The broad area of research includes Power Systems, Power Electronics & Drives, Special Electrical Machines, Control & Dynamics, Renewable Energy Systems, High Voltage Engineering and Optimization techniques. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories like Advanced Power Electronics lab, Solar Energy Research Lab, Renewable Energy Conversion Lab High Voltage Lab and System Simulation Lab with licensed softwares like MATLAB, MagNet, LabVIEW, PSpice, PSim, PSCAD, Mipower, EMTP, etc. The department has publications in referred impact factor journals and in International / National conference proceedings.
The department has signed MoU with M/s. Danfoss Industries, M/s. Hibrise Technologies and has taken up research projects funded by AICTE, MNRE and NIWE. The Department has organized eight International Conferences, seven National Conferences, eight Faculty Development Program sponsored by Anna University, three Short-term Training Program sponsored by AICTE, ISTE and many Workshops.
